1. Discontinue Accutane 6 months prior to treatment to ensure optimal results in your skin treatment preparation. 2. Stop using Retinoic Acid products 2 weeks before your hair reduction treatments. 3. Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for four to eight weeks, depending on the skin type of the patient, and refrain from using self-tanners for at least four weeks before and/or in between Long Pulse ND:YAG treatments. 4. Report any skin diseases, viruses, infections, cold sores, eczema, or allergies to your treating practitioner. 5. For proper skin care instructions, do not exfoliate, use glycolic acid, benzyl peroxide, or any other skin irritants one week prior to hair reduction treatments. 6. Avoid microdermabrasion or peels for two weeks before treatment. 7. If your skin is red, irritated, or sunburned, the hair reduction treatment must be rescheduled. 8. Report all medications taken within two weeks of the treatment. 9. Avoid depilation for at least 6 weeks before your first treatment. Refrain from waxing, sugaring, plucking, threading, or using hair removal creams before and/or in between hair reduction treatments. Shaving is permitted and recommended. 10. Discontinue using bleaching creams for 2 weeks prior to treatment and avoid perfumed products (e.g., aromatherapy oils/essential oils) for 48 hours before treatment. 11. Do not use sun blocking creams within 12 hours of scheduled treatments. Consider wearing protective clothing, cotton gloves while driving, or a hat to protect facial areas and/or comfortable pants/clothing to shield the legs from sun exposure. 12. Avoid swimming in strongly chlorinated water immediately before a hair reduction treatment session.
1. During the laser treatment aftercare period, it is crucial to avoid direct sunlight, tanning beds, or self-tanners. Apply a Sun Protective Cream with an SPF of 50+ at least 15 minutes before sun exposure and reapply it every 15 minutes thereafter. Consider using protective cotton gloves while driving and wearing a hat to shield the facial areas undergoing treatment.
2. If scabs, crusting, or blisters occur, refrain from using make-up for 3-4 days.
3. To ensure proper healing, avoid touching, rubbing, peeling, or picking at the skin in the treatment area, as this could lead to hyper/hypopigmentation, scarring, or infection.
4. For skin care instructions, gently apply pure aloe vera gel or a soothing ointment to the treated area twice daily until it is healed and dry.
5. A cold pack may be applied to the treated area for the first 2-3 days to alleviate swelling or discomfort. While discomfort is usually minimal, pain medication can be taken if necessary.
6. For one week post-treatment, avoid hot baths, showers, hot tubs, and saunas. When showering, gently pat the skin dry instead of rubbing.
7. Refrain from strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours following the clinical treatment.
8. Avoid swimming in highly chlorinated water for 24 hours after a hair removal session.
